Etage is part of Sydney’s industrial renaissance. Originally the outpatient department of the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children, the 1950s building was renovated in 2002 for the first stage of the City Quarter residential precinct by a team including the French architect firm of Reichen et Robert. 

The living areas in the apartments have extended loggias, or verandahs, enclosed by adjustable louvres.
