City Quarter

City Quarter is a lively community situated in the heart of Camperdown, on the historic grounds of the former Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. This site is steeped in heritage, showcasing several reminders of its rich historical past.

Bordering City Quarter to the north is a natural habitat area that includes Orphan School Creek. Known as the ‘Nurses Garden,’ this space was restored as part of the development approval for City Quarter and is home to plant species native to the Blackwattle Creek region. While officially overseen by the Sydney City Council, green-thumbed volunteers are encouraged to assist in maintaining the gardens.
